Recovery Coach Academy, Edmonton

Delivered in-person over five days, this 30-hour training is an introductory learning experience for aspiring recovery coaches. As participants interact as a cohort or in small groups, each will learn to:

• Describe the role of a recovery coach
• Build skills to develop a coaching relationship
• Explore the many dimensions and stages of recovery
• Discover attitudes about self-disclosure
• Describe the stages of change and their applications
• Increase awareness of power dynamics
• Experience recovery wellness planning
   

Cost

Through our partnership with the Government of Alberta and the Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction, the cost of the program is completely covered for approved individuals. This ensures that those who are committed to making a difference in the field of addiction recovery can access the training they need without financial barriers.

Applicants must be legally able to work with the vulnerable sector (pass a vulnerable sector check) and, if in recovery, must have a minimum of 18 months in recovery.
